Fonden Distortion København was initiated in the period November 2011/March 2012, as an independent not-for-profit institution for arts/culture/social projects in the public space. It was founded originally by Animal Communication (agency) under the Human Office (holding).

The Distortion celebrations started in September 1998 - read history here.
The Secretariat Nus/Nus ApS was established in 2008, it used to look like this.

The founding board of directors in 2012 (in order of Distortion-experience):
Thomas Fleurquin, Jesper Nymark, Thomas Hertz, Lærke Hein, Martin von Haller and Knud Foldschack.
